The season 2 trailer for Firefly Lane, which stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke, was released on November 1st by Netflix. Entertainment Tonight showcased the trailer debut alongside an exclusive interview with the two leading ladies.

The drama, which is based on the best selling novels Firefly Lane and Fly Away by Kristin Hannah, will return to the streaming platform worldwide on December 2nd. The second season of Firefly Lane continues the story of inseparable best friends Tully and Kate, as they guide each other through life’s highs and lows — along with the promises, secrets, and betrayals in-between — over 30 tumultuous years.

Comprising of 16 episodes, Season 2 will be split into 2 parts.  Part 1, which launches in December will showcase episodes 201-209, while part 2 will debut in 2023 and wrap the show with the concluding 7 episodes.

Season 1 ended with an epic cliffhanger — Kate and Tully’s friendship broke up after 30 years. Tully showed up at Kate’s father’s funeral unexpectedly and Kate said, “Don’t you think you punished me enough when I said I couldn’t forgive you for what you did? Leave, go home, now. I don’t ever want to see you again.” Season 2 Part 1 reveals what actually caused the rift and whether Kate and Tully’s friendship can endure.

In parallel with the trailer, Netflix also released the key art for the second season and a number of stills from the first 9 episodes.

In addition to her starring role as Tully Hart, Katherine Heigl also served as an executive producer of the show, which was created by showrunner Maggie Friedman. Episodes of Firefly Lane are named after iconic songs, as the soundtrack plays an important role in defining the different eras of the production. Season 2 titles include: Good Riddance/Time of Your Life, All Apologies and Papa Don’t Preach.
