Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Katherine’s upcoming drama series Firefly Lane. Based on the 2008 bestselling novel by author Kirstin Hannah, the show tells a sweeping story of Tully Hart (Katherine Heigl) and Kate Mularkey (Sarah Chalke), who meet as young girls on Firefly Lane and become inseparable best friends. The story follows their enduring, complicated bond, spanning four tumultuous decades.

Katherine plays Tully, a force of nature still bearing the scars of a traumatic childhood but whose saving grace is her best friend Kate. However, when an unthinkable betrayal breaks them apart, the pair goes their separate ways and it’s unclear whether they will ever be able to reconcile.
Maggie Friedman (Witches of East End, No Tomorrow) will serve as showrunner. Katherine will also executive produce the show alongside Friedman, Stephanie Germain and Lee Rose. Writer Hannah is also a co-exec producer. Peter O’Fallon (UnReal) will direct and executive produce the first episode. Beau Garrett, Roan Curtis, Ben Lawson, Ali Skovbye, Brendan Taylor and Jason McKinnon co-star.
